Writing Down Your Soul: How to Activate and Listen to the Extraordinary Voice Within by Janet Conner

Writing Down Your Soul: How to Activate and Listen to the Extraordinary Voice Within by Janet Conner
I’ve been journaling for years. Sometimes I write pages of free writing and other times I make lists: what worries me, what I’m grateful for, or my to-do list for tomorrow.
When my friend Zandra recommended this book, I was a little skeptical because ?I’ve been there and done that.? But Zandra, a spiritual writer, has recommended several books to me, and every one I’ve read so far has been life changing. This book is no exception.

Conner focuses on connecting to your inner voice first in the process of journaling. By asking your inner voice questions, you create a dialogue of speaking with and listening to your own inner wisdom. As soon as I started to follow Janet’s clear guidelines for writing, my paper was overflowing with honest, surprising, inspiring stuff that often feels like it’s coming from a source outside myself, definitely not from my logical mind. This is my inner voice.

Janet’s book details a recipe for opening up your soul through journaling. She elaborates on 4 easy steps to writing down your soul:

  1. Show up
  2. Open up
  3. Listen up
  4. Follow up.

In a clear, honest, and sacred way, Janet shares a series of exercises which makes each one of the 4 steps easy and fun to do. You learn the why, what, and how of journaling. She introduces you to a divine process that includes writing, journaling, prayer, meditation, inner dialogue, and experiencing divine love.

Janet’s four steps guide you towards creating a place inside you for your inner voice to speak and for you to listen.

Janet Conner was escaping a terrible situation of domestic abuse in her past. While being afraid for her life, writing down her soul helped her turn her worst life experience into a divine opportunity. Feeling desperate, she had to surrender and trust her inner voice, simply because there was no place else to go. This changed her life.

However, you don’t have to experience trauma to benefit from this book. ?This book,? says Janet, ?is a standing invitation, open to all. Accept it, whether you are currently in good times or bad, and you will experience direct and immediate access to divine consciousness. Accept it, and you will hear and see the Voice. Accept it, and you will receive the wisdom and miracles your heart is longing for.?

Janet Conner is an expert on the power of sacred journaling, personal prayer, and forgiveness to heal your heart and transform your world.

If you desire to be aware, grateful, spiritually guided and free, pick up this book, a pen and paper, and start writing down your soul.
