Earlier today, I had the honor of interviewing Dr. Sara Gottfried, Harvard-trained MD and NY Times best-selling author of ?The Hormone Cure.? Interviewing Dr. Sara was a special moment for me, and I would like to share with you about my experience.
Dr. Sara?s message to women is very powerful: She wants to engage conversation about hormones to help women understand that balancing hormones is easier than living in misery. Dr. Sara?s mission is to balance the hormones of one million women this year.
There was a huge amount of scientific information that Dr. Sara shared during the interview, including the following: identifying the 3 signs that your hormones are out of whack and how to fix them in 10 days; how to know if your symptoms are stress related; and simple changes you can make right away to start balancing your hormones. If your energy is inconsistent and you think that something is wrong with you, you will find this information helpful.
The information she shared with me about integrative medicine and functional medicine is very powerful. Her philosophy that lifestyle changes are the foundation for hormonal balance truly speaks to me.
But my personal ?Wow Moments? during the interview were actually the ?small talk?, the spontaneous personal stories we heard from Dr. Sara.
I asked Sara about her ?Wow Moments? since the year started. You would think that she would share about being a NY Times best-selling author or appearing on national TV. But no! The two ?Wow Moments? she shared were conversations she had with her husband and her daughter.
Her husband asked her if she wants to be a big celebrity doctor, and her answer to him was that her family will always be her first priority. Dr. Sara states clearly that the only way she can successfully bring her message to the world is by staying committed to her priorities. This way she won’t create too much stress for herself and her family members won’t pay the cost.
Dr. Sara also shared about a personal conversation she had with her daughter while walking her to the bus stop. Clearly, she is not only teaching others about creating a healthy lifestyle and living a life of balance, she really walks the talk.
When I asked Dr. Sara about her personal ?hit the pause button? morning routine, she shared that she makes sure to have a few minutes of quiet time before waking her kids up. She makes herself a cup of tea, she meditates or practices a yoga pose, and starts her day with a centering practice.
It’s not surprising that when I chatted on the line with Dr. Sara before the interview, we took the last 5 minutes of conversation as a time to get centered. We each closed our eyes and got connected to our bodies so we could both be really present on the call.
Being committed to a daily Balance Practice myself, I appreciate the fact that it is such a priority for Dr. Sara. There is one tip she shared about checking emails that I would like to adopt myself and plan to learn from her.
When you listen to the interview, you can hear some of the questions that were asked by our listeners. One question that kept coming up was ?how can I work with Dr. Sara?? She answers that taking her ?Fast Track Your Hormone Cure? program is the best way to start. If you click on the link below, you can explore this program and see if it’s a good fit for you.
