I was grumpy and impatient, and, if I’m honest, also unkind. My husband asked me gently, “Did you meditate this morning? It doesn’t seem like it!” I looked at him and said, “You know what? You’re right! I didn’t!”
I have meditated daily for 30 years. I rarely skip my meditation practice. But that day, I did. My daughter, who I miss a lot, called, and we got into a long, meaningful conversation that cut into my morning practice time. Then it was breakfast and a scheduled mentoring call, and I didn’t get to meditate until late in the evening.
I was surprised. Can I really get that reactive just from skipping my meditation practice? Who knows? Maybe I just had a bad day. But I can definitely say that I feel more centered and grounded—that I respond rather than react—after I have meditated and treated myself with Reiki.
We all know that meditation is one of the best tools for managing stress, improving happiness, and supporting our health and wellbeing. Yet many people who try meditation find it hard to stick with it.
In today’s vlog, I tell you what my daily practice looks like. I share my experiences with meditation and how you can meditate successfully even if you haven’t had success with meditation in the past.
