Affirmation of the Week: I let go of the past and live in the moment
When was the last time you watched a child play? There’s no one who is better in being present than children. They are so focused in the present. If they are ?superman?, that’s what they are 100%. If they are a ?princess? or a ?prince?, they are nothing else but that. They don’t think about yesterday or tomorrow. They act like there is nothing else in the world during that moment.
Practicing mindfulness is natural for children. It takes practice for us adults to be mindful.
How many times have you eaten a meal without noticing how it tastes? How many times have you driven somewhere without noticing the view on your way or even the route that you took?
Our minds are often elsewhere from where we are.
That’s where our mind develops fear, worry, regrets, guilt and doubts. When we are truly present, we are aware and in touch with our emotions and feelings.
This week practice mindfulness. Be 100% present and aware with everything you do. Celebrate eating your meal by doing only that. Look at the food. Feel its taste. Walking your dog? leave your cell phone at home and look at nature. Taking a shower? look at the water, feel it on your body, check its texture, smell and touch.
Practice this affirmation to remind you to be mindful. Say this affirmation when you wash the dishes, when you take a shower, when you drive, when you walk.
What have you noticed? How does it affect your thinking and your mood?
Please share your experience, I would appreciate your comments.
