Coaching with Tony Robbins

By Michal Spiegelman

Those of you who know me know how excited and passionate I am about coaching. It excites me to see people who are breaking through whatever is holding them back and moving forward to create the life they want. The truth is that I experience the same results myself. I love being coached. It has empowered me and it helps me to change my life every minute.

On Thursday morning, I was getting ready for my weekly session with my coach, Erika Baez. When I called her, she asked to call me back: she was checking in to a hotel in NYC. Erika flew to New York to spend a weekend with motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

While I was waiting for Erika to call me back I decided to check out Tony Robbins on YouTube. When Erika texted me to reschedule, I was surprised to learn that one hour had passed since we spoke. I was so engaged with Tony Robbins that I completely lost track of time. The man has so much charisma and high energy that even watching a video of him motivated me.

Robbins spoke about the decisions we make and how they create our destiny. The highlight of his presentation for me was when he used Lance Amstrong as an example.

Here’s what I learned from Tony Robbins:

Here are 3 decisions we have to consciously make every day:

  1. What am I going to focus on?
  2. What does it mean?
  3. What am I going to do about it?

When Lance Amstrong was diagnosed with cancer, these were his decisions:

  1. He decided to focus on fighting the cancer
  2. He decided to look at it as a new beginning, instead of the end
  3. He came back and won 7 consecutive Tour de France bike races and became a role model for many people, and he is now cancer-free.

Lance Amstrong was so emotionally motivated that he made powerful decisions and created a new destiny.

Ask yourself these 3 questions daily:

  1. What am I going to focus on?
  2. What does it mean?
  3. What am I going to do about it?

Connect to your emotions and let them inspire you.

It can change your life.

Sometimes guilt is good

Have you ever heard of healthy guilt? Unhealthy guilt is toxic, but healthy guilt is a spiritual practice that helps us to recognize which of our values is taking priority. A “lazy” morning watching tv recently put my sense of both to the test.
