I cried tears of joy as I closed Zoom at the end of our Elevate 2022 virtual gathering last week. I was so touched by the collective wisdom that was shared by the women who joined the event. In a time where our physical world is smaller than ever, and there is still so much uncertainty on the planet, it was profound to create such a deep level of connection with women around the world.
I shared four themes I received for 2022, and each woman created her wisdom statement that will serve as her compass for the year.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, and I am being called to share the year’s themes with those of you who did not attend the gathering.
Theme #1: Rise above the thunder clouds.
If the world’s uncertainty makes you feel worried, if you experience ups and downs, and if you are carrying dark, heavy thunder clouds from the last two years, you are not alone.
Our sensitivity is on the rise.
The collective heaviness and fatigue is affecting us.
We are being stretched to embrace the darkness. To see its gifts. To bring purpose to the pain. While we need to jump into the darkness and embrace it, we must remember not to allow it to take over.
As Mary Oliver wrote in her beautiful poem “The Uses of Sorrow,” “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.”
What thunder clouds are you experiencing in your life right now, beacon?
You might experience internal clouds such as loss; trauma; difficulty in relationships; health crises; anxiety; depression; and lack of joy, energy, or fulfillment.
You might be affected by external clouds, such as the collective fatigue, uncertainty, conflict, and confusion in the world or the internal clouds that belong to other people.
The storm will always be part of our lives, and we can choose to let it drown us or to rise above it.
Are you ready to jump into the darkness?
Are you ready to embrace the darkness without allowing it to take over?
Are you ready to rise above the thunder clouds?
When darkness surfaces, we must stand in the light. But first, we have to let the light in.
One question to ask yourself is, do you want be a darkness keeper or a light keeper?
When darkness surfaces, we stand in the light. We anchor the light. We let the sunshine in, and we anchor it with our practice.
Theme #2: Let the sunshine in.
The sun is ever-present energy. It is life-giving energy. It’s a rebirth. It’s a guiding light.
Imagine yourself standing on the beach, looking at the ocean on a sunny day with your heart smiling. How does it feel? How does it feel to breathe in the sunshine?
Make space for the light. Take off the blinds and see the light.
I wouldn’t be able to serve as a beacon and support so many people, especially over the last two years, without my daily spiritual practices of anchoring the light. During the pandemic, I have elevated my daily practice to make it more solid and grounded so that I can stand in my power and be so filled up that I can easily serve.
How about you, beacon?
Are you ready to let in the sunshine?
Are you willing to give yourself permission to accept the light?
Theme #3: Lean into wisdom and intuition.
Wisdom is the ability to know without learning. The wise woman within us is always ready to share, if only we are ready to listen.
Intuition is the ability to receive messages that are coming through you without knowing where they come from.
Another message that came up for 2022 was our collective need to lean into wisdom and intuition to help us navigate this difficult time.
Our new norm is living with uncertainty.
Now is the time to call upon spiritual practices that fill us up so we can receive inner guidance.
During the Elevate 2022 gathering, many women wrote in the chat that treating themselves with Reiki daily is the number one practice that strengthens their ability to tap into wisdom and makes their intuition alive. If you practice Reiki, return to the practices you learned during your training so you can reconnect with your wisdom and intuition. If you are not practicing Reiki yet, consider learning self-Reiki with us.
Theme #4: Elevate in community.
Women heal in community. Our souls are craving to be heard, seen, accepted, and virtually hugged.
2022 is calling us to find and stick with our tribe. As a Beacons of Change community member, I can assure you that you have found your tribe.
We know that “healing together outshines healing alone” (The Beacons of Change Manifesto).
We give each other strength. We pour some light into the darkness when our soul sisters are in a low spot. We help each other create balance. As it says in the manifesto, “We balance giving and receiving, doing and being, caring for others and for ourselves.”
Make it your mission this coming year to rise above the thunder clouds, let the sunshine in, lean into wisdom and intuition, and elevate in community.
Below I share a few of the wisdom statements that participants in our virtual gathering created. Read, feel, and embody their words. Let their messages inspire and empower you to create your own statement—a tangible, practical way for YOU to tap into the collective wisdom right now.
Patricia: “As I arrive above the thunder clouds, I can see the sunshine coming in. I relax into knowing the Universe takes care of me and my community.”
Amanda: “It is time to rise above the thunder clouds, internally and externally, in a way that doesn’t allow the darkness to take over. To ELEVATE and anchor the light when it is too dark. TO make the choice to let the sun in and to lean into inner and collective wisdom and NAVIGATE a balanced life. Lighting the path together.”
Ashley: “I am ready now to lean into the flow of life, to embrace healthy changes that foster my birthrights of joy and healing. I now stand humbly in my power and reach out to others for connection and support to do the same. I am Love, I give Love, and I see the world from a place of Love. And I am safe in every moment.”
Mariya: “I am very strong and powerful. I am part of the community of healers. Together we rise above the thunder clouds. I trust my wisdom and intuition. I trust my Higher Self. And So it is.”
Sharon: “Through the darkness, look inside and let the sunshine in to elevate myself and others.”
Melody: “I observe above the thunder clouds. I welcome the sunshine in to fill my soul. My wisdom and intuition lead my words for the greater good. I feel balanced in caring for myself and how I help the world as a beacon of change.”
Shana: “Value ourselves as wise women with resilience, bliss, love, forgiveness, and the need to truly live in our essence with no fear and have faith.”
Vicki: “I am ready to embrace the darkness and the light to activate the wisdom to become a beacon of change.”
There are many, many more statements, but I’ll stop here.
Enjoy reviewing a few of the coloring pages women who attended sent back to me with their wisdom statements.
Thank you for joining the Beacons of Change mission to raise the vibration in the world one woman at a time, so we can live, love, and lead at full power!
